Marissa Dannaway, PT, DPT

Hello! My name is Marissa. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in Pelvic Health and Chronic Pain Physical Therapy.

I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016 from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, California, and have spent the years following dedicated to learning as much as I can about these specialty areas.

I am originally from Hawaii and my mission is to provide accessible, quality, and integrative treatment methods that get to the root cause of symptoms, and help patients return to living the healthiest and happiest lives possible.

I prioritize providing compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed care to all those I see. I look forward to being a part of your healing journey!

An Integrative Approach

What is Integrative Physical Therapy? Integrative Physical Therapy is a holistic approach to rehabilitation and wellness that combines traditional physical therapy techniques with complementary therapies to address the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

Integrative Manual Therapy

In addition to traditional orthopedic manual therapy skills, I integrate the following hands on techniques into my practice:

  • Craniosacral Therapy

  • Myofascial Release

  • Visceral Manipulation

Cognitive and Psychosomatic Therapies

Our experience of pain is driven by our brain and nervous system. There are evidence-based techniques to help retrain our brain and nervous system so we experience less pain and are able to participate more fully in life. I provide education on the use of the following strategies to more effectively manage and heal from chronic pain:

  • Pain Reprocessing Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Meditation

  • Nervous System Down Regulation Techniques
